Junior Police Academy
The Junior Police Academy is a course that has been designed by the police officers of the Raritan Township Police Department. It is a character-building program that will prepare the cadet for the challenges of becoming a teenager and a young adult.
The week-long academy consists of light physical training, lectures on police topics from guest speakers, practical exercises, and trips to the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse, Hunterdon County Jail, and New Jersey State Police Museum. The objective of the academy is to allow cadets to learn discipline, self-motivation, and teamwork.
The academy class is limited to 25 cadets and registrants are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Registrants must be students in the Flemington-Raritan School District between the ages of 13 and 15 as of July 1.
