Officer Biographies


Chief Glenn S. Tabasko: 
Chief Tabasko began his law enforcement career with the South Amboy Police Department in 1977.  In 1980, he was hired with the Raritan Township Police Department.  Chief Tabasko was assigned to the Detective Bureau in 1987 and was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 1989.  In 1995, he was promoted to Lieutenant, and in 2000 he was promoted to Captain.  He was appointed as the fifth Chief of Police of the Raritan Township Police Department in 2007.  Chief Tabasko holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, a Master of Arts degree in Professional Education, and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.


Lieutenant Nicklas Buck: 
In 1990, Lieutenant Buck began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 1996 and to Lieutenant in 2001.  Lieutenant Buck is currently the Operations commander, which includes the Investigative and Patrol Divisons.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.


Lieutenant Kevin Donovan: 
Lieutenant Donovan became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department in 1993.  In 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007 and is currently the Administrative commander, which includes media relations, internal affairs investigations, and grant applications.  Lieutenant Donovan is a Child Safety Seat Technician, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Detective Sergeant Mark W. Taggert: 
In 1984, Detective Sergeant Taggert was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department.  He was assigned to the Detective Bureau in 1988.  In 2000, he was promoted to Detective Sergeant, and is currently the supervisor of the Investigative Division.  Detective Sergeant Taggert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.


Sergeant Jeffrey S. Bate: 
Sergeant Bate began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department in 1993.  In 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a patrol supervisor.  Sergeant Bate served four years with the United States Marine Corps and is a Desert Storm combat veteran.


Sergeant Jack M. Venettone: 
In 1987, Sergeant Venettone was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department after working for the Lambertville Police Department for 2 years.  He was assigned to the Detective Bureau from 1998 to 2001, at which time he was promoted to Sergeant.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a patrol supervisor.


Sergeant Alfred C. Payne: 
Sergeant Payne became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department in 1996.  In 2007, he was promoted to Sergeant.  Sergeant Payne is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a patrol supervisor and is a member of the Hunterdon County Fatal Collision Investigation Team.  He served with the United States Marine Corps, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Sergeant Scott Lessig:
  Sergeant Lessig was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department in 1990 after working for the Manville Police Department for 4 years.  In 2009, he was promoted to sergeant.  During his career, he was assigned to the Detective Bureau for 10 years.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a patrol supervisor, is a Firearms Instructor, and is a member of Hunterdon County SWAT.  Sergeant Lessig has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.


Officer Eugene T. Blessing: 
In 1988, Officer Blessing began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Detective Bureau and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force.  Officer Blessing is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and is a four year veteran of the United States Marine Corps.


Officer Michael J. Bokach: 
In 1992, Officer Bokach became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Community Policing Section as a D.A.R.E. Instructor, and at Hunterdon Central Regional High School as a School Resource Officer.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  Officer Bokach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration.


Officer Gary Breuer: 
Officer Breuer was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department in 1993.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Emergency Response Unit.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  Officer Breuer is an Emergency Medical Technician and a CPR Instructor.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.


Officer Timothy A. Apgar: 
In 1994, Officer Apgar became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department after working for the Flemington Police Department for 6 years.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  Officer Apgar is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.


Officer Benedict Donaruma: 
Officer Donaruma was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department in 1995 after working for the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office for 2 years.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  Officer Donaruma is currently assigned to the Detective Bureau as a special operations detective.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.


Officer Gary J. Galoppo: 
In 1995, Officer Galoppo began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.


Officer Michael Dendis: 
Officer Dendis was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department in 1996 after working as a special police officer with the Seaside Heights Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  Officer Dendis is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.


Officer Thomas Camporeale: 
In 1996, Officer Camporeale became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department after working as a special police officer with the Seaside Heights Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, the Detective Bureau, and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force.  Officer Camporeale is currently assigned to the Detective Bureau.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Matthew H. Lawrence: 
Officer Lawrence was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department in 1996.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and the Motorcycle Patrol Unit.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Margaret L. Hammond: 
In 1999, Officer Hammond began her career with the Raritan Township Police Department.  During her career, she has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force.  She is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  Officer Hammond holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science.


Officer Timothy J. Nemeth: 
Officer Nemeth became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department in 1999.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Detective Bureau, the Community Policing Section as a D.A.R.E. Officer Robert F. Landolina: 
In 1999, Officer Landolina was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department after working for the Pennington Police Department for 1 year.  He is currently assigned to the Detective Bureau as a special operations detective.  Officer Landolina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.


Officer Peter A. Serrone: 
Officer Serrone became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department in 1999.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and Emergency Response Unit.  Officer Serrone is currently assigned to the Motorcycle Patrol Unit and Traffic Unit.  He is an Emergency Medical Technician and CPR Instructor.


Officer David S. Carson: 
In 1999, Officer Carson was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department after working for the Fanwood Police Department for 2 years.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and the Bicycle Patrol Unit.  Officer Carson maintains the police department website and is an Emergency Medical Technician and a Drug Recognition Expert.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration.


Officer Joseph R. Canonica: 
Officer Canonica began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department in 2000.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Traffic Unit.  Officer Canonica is currently assigned to the Traffic Unit and is a member of the Hunterdon County Fatal Collision Investigation Team.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer William D. Cialone: 
In 2000, Officer Cialone became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau.  Officer Cialone is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Brian M. Sutherland: 
Officer Sutherland began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department in 2001.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Traffic Unit.  Officer Sutherland is currently assigned to the Traffic Unit.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Christopher A. Vallat: 
In 2001, Officer Vallat was hired by the Raritan Township Police Department.  During his career, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Emergency Response Unit, and the Traffic Unit.  Officer Vallat is currently assigned to the Traffic Unit.  He is an Emergency Medical Technician and CPR Instructor.  Officer Vallat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Scott D. Nelson: 
Officer Nelson became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department in 2003.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and is a Firearms Instructor.  Officer Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Officer Scott Iglay:  Officer Iglay began his career with the Raritan Township Police Department in 2005.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering.


Officer Ryan Garbolino: 
In 2006, Officer Garbolino became a police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department after working 2 years for the Town of Clinton Police Department.  He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  Officer Garbolino holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources.


Officer Aaron Roth: 
Officer Roth was hired with the Raritan Township Police Department in 2007 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.  He served four years with the United States Army and is a Kosovo Peace Keeping Mission combat veteran.  Officer Roth also holds an Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
